I love Amish clothing, though some people don't. I found some really nice snapshots of them :

Post what you like about this. Oh, and Carrot, I'm not entirely sure if this site if against biblical/religion things. So I'm really sorry if I'm breaking the rules, even though I'm a moderator.

Hi Sophie.

I think they are cute, but I would not particularly wear them myself. I do have family that does wear them though. Yes, they do look good on some people.

And those dresses are usually made by hand! Isn't that amazing?

That is very amazing, Sophie! I wish I had the time to sit down and sew something together.
Except I am not that talented.

My mom sews alot, except with a machine. But at home! She runs her own business, called Blue Flower Treasures. For clothing, she has a seperate shop, called Modest Treasures ( you see, my family are Christians )

Congrats to your Mom, Sophie! I would love to learn how to sew, but never had the patience.
I would love to have a mother who has her own shop, b/c it is hard for me to find clothes sometimes.
The sizes are either to big or to small, nothing really in the middle.

Thanks, Breezy! I try to sew too, on my mom's machines, but I get all frustrated over cutting fabric. I never, EVER cut correctly. I always need help. *sigh*

I took some sewing classes in High School. I have not sewed too much lately. I did make a few dresses and skirts (my mom still wears her dress that I made to this day, she loves how it looks on her). Shorts are pretty easy to make too. Maybe one day I will take it up again.

Wow she still wears it? That's amazing. I made a bible bag for my mom and she uses it but ... I made her a purse and simple wallet and she said it was wonderful but hasn't used it. Well, that was two years ago, so maybe I was too young to be any good. LOL

I tried to sew myself, even took sewing classes in high school, but I guess I am just not good at it.
